Dean Schneider is one of the most sought-after pianists, arrangers and musical directors on the east coast. His career spans over 20 years of live performance based in the Philadelphia, New York and Atlantic City regions, as well as touring the United States and international engagements. Mr. Schneider has accompanied such artists as Plácido Domingo, Bernadette Peters, Carol Channing, Liza Minnelli, The Irish Tenors, Louise Duart, Bryan Clark, Lou Rawls, Connie Francis, Johnny Mathis, Michael Crawford, Anthony Newley, Carol Lawrence, Shirley Bassey, Freddy Roman, Clay Aiken, Buddy Greco, Kathie Lee Gifford, Frank Gorshin, Sal Dupree, Tom Postilio, and many other artists. For 20 years, he has been accompanist for Diahann Carroll in concert halls and showrooms throughout the United States and Canada, and he currently serves as her musical director.
Over the last 20 years, Mr. Schneider has provided musical direction for many cabaret artists at venues that include The American Music Theatre, Westbury Music Fair, The Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, Central Park's Tavern on the Green, Danny's Skylight Room, Lincoln Center, The Supper Club, Eighty-Eights, Feinstein’s at Loews Regency, Odette's and many others. In the 1980s, he was pianist at Bally's Grand and Harrah's Casino Hotels, where he conducted and accompanied many productions and shows. He also served as music director for Eddie Bruce Entertainment for over 15 years, performing at private and corporate events and cabaret shows.
Mr. Schneider has produced recordings for numerous Philadelphia vocalists, has directed a performing arts camp in Margate, New Jersey, and is collaborating with playwright Andrea Green to arrange and record a series of children's musicals. He has performed with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, Ocean City Pops, Delaware Symphony, the Michael Pedicin Quartet and the Minnesota and Toronto Symphony Orchestras. Mr. Schneider studied music education at Temple University and serves on the faculty at Rowan University’s Maynard Ferguson Institute of Jazz Studies in Glassboro, New Jersey. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Settlement Music School’s Willow Grove, Pennsylvania campus.
